Appendix is a small, pouch-like sac of tissue that is located on the lower right side of your abdomen. It’s function is unknown. Other experts believe that it acts as a storehouse for good bacteria which helps the digestive system to reboot after diarrheal illnesses. On the other hand, other experts believe that it is useless.

Though it is just small and has no clear function, if it gets inflamed, infected and ruptured, it can cause major medical emergency.
