Caring for hair is very important. Our hair holds the purity of our intent. Our hair is also believed to be an extension of our nervous system. Check out the article we found at Organic and Healthy.

Keeping your hair long may be taboo for some but for others it is culture. Here is the truth about hair and why Native Americans tend to do so.

In our culture, people are lead to believe that their hair style is a matter of personal preference, that your own hair style is a matter involving fashion and/or convenience, and how people wear their hair is a cosmetic issue. In the Vietnam war, a different view emerged, one that was carefully hidden up from the public eye. In the early 1990’s, Sally [name changed to protect privacy] was married to a psychologist practicing at the Veteran Affairs Medical Hospital. He had worked alongside combat veterans, whom most of them served in the Vietnam War. They had also suffered from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) due to their deployments to Vietnam.

Sally said, “I remember clearly an evening when my husband came back to our apartment on Doctor’s Circle carrying a thick official looking folder ins hands. Inside were hundreds of pages of certain studies commissioned by the government. He was in shock from the contents. What he read in those documents completely changed his life. From that moment on my conservative middle of the road husband grew his hair and beard and never cut them again.

What is more, the VA Medical center let him do it, and other very conservative men in the staff followed his example.” As I had looked over the documents in front of me, I learned why. During the Vietnam War, special forces in the war department had sent for undercover experts to search in the American Indian Reservations, looking around to recruit talented and tough, young men who can withstand rough terrain and be trained to move stealthily. Special Forces was also looking for men that have superior tracking abilities. These carefully-selected men were defined and documented as tracking and survivalist experts.

With the usual allure, some of these Indian Trackers  were enlisted once smooth phrases were used to enroll new recruits. A shocking thing happened once these men had been enlisted. Their talent and skills they were experts at, on their reservation, had indeed mysteriously ended up lost.

As a result, recruit after recruit failed to perform as required. Failures of performance and along with the serious casualties, the government was led to contract the expensive testing of those recruits and what was found will amaze you.

When the older recruits were questioned about their failure to perform as wished, they would reply consistently that their mandatory military haircuts had hampered them from sensing the enemy. When given a hair cut, these men could no longer sense the enemy. They felt that they could no longer access their own sixth sense, and even their own intuition. They couldn’t recognize the subtle signs or access their extrasensory information.

More Indian trackers were recruited into a testing institute, where they will be able to keep their long hair, and be tested in different areas. One man would be able to keep his hair long, while the other man had a military cut. After this, the men then retook the tests given to them previously.

The man who made the highest scores was the long-haired man. The short-haired man, try after try, had failed the same test he did superior in when he had longer hair. Here is a typical test: In the woods, the recruit is sleeping peacefully. An enemy, well-armed, approaches the man who is peacefully asleep.

According to science, the human body has evolved over millions of years. The survival skills of animals and humans seem almost supernatural. There is constantly more discoveries in science, about the abilities of man and animal to exist. Every part of the body has an essential purpose for survival, and the well-being of the entire body. There is a reason for every body part. Hair is actually an extension of the Nervous system. Believe it or not, hair can be seen as exterior nerves.

I have friends who are Native American. When the women (who all have long hair) have a dear friend that passes away they braid their hair and then cut it off and put it in the coffin with the deceased friend.
