Dentists and scientists have been fighting about a certain dental procedure for years. The scientist believe this procedure is causing many people a whole lot of health issues, while the dentists say its a completely safe procedure. There is now way too much evidence and studies showing proof that the dental procedure can lead to serious life threatening or chronic health issues including cancer and heart disease to be ignored. You might have heard of this procedure before, a Root Canal? If you have a root canal, are thinking of getting one, or know someone with a root canal, you must send them this article. They need to know what they’re getting themselves into and so do you!

I had a root canal removed (and amalgam fillings removed and got periodontal disease under control)
When the oral surgeon pulled it out (I was lucky it was in the back) he said looky there, it’s a little abscessed – I can’t imagine that abscess was doing this body any good?
I was diagnosed with stage IV inflammatory breast cancer (to the bone) and while I made a drastic lifestyle change, I believe cleaning up my mouth played a huge part in my healing (no cancer in my bones anymore)
And I will add there is no silver bullet and I believe it’s a mind, body and spirit thing when it comes to healing.
I was fortunate to find a biological dentist who takes great pride in his work – far far from a chop shop

As a hygienist, I ask that you stop passing this nonsense around. State the legitimate(legitimate!) studies that prove this. No serious science proves this nonsense.

I am an Oral Surgeon. This is pure quackery.
Here is the reality.A tooth requiring root canal harbors the dangerous bacteria, which have attacked and infected the pulp.
If you DON’T get root canal done then you are placing yourself in danger because infections of the mid=facial area left untreated can disseminate bacterial toxins to the spaces in the mid brain ,and that can cause death.
Root canal is a procedure that sterilizes the canals and they are hermetically sealed with an inert substance.
The premise of this article is so flawed that it’s laughable.Bacteria do not travel down through the canal and out past the root tips into the blood stream. They remain inside the tooth and release chemical toxins that are found in root tip abscesses. the lesion itself is sterile, but unless the tooth is treated the toxins are released into the blood circulation with undesirable effects.

All you naturopathic quacks who think you know something about the pathogenicity of infected teeth are pathetic.I have practised oral surgery for 25 years and have both the research and clinical skills to debate any of you charlatans.
In fact Naturopathic medicine is a danger and menace to society when they overstep their limited boundaries.
I have a case study here ready to produce to anyone of a patient who had advanced congestive Heart Failure but went to a naturopathic Physician in California who diagnosed and treated him for lead poisoning.
The patient almost died, luckily he was saved by cardiologists in an emergency care facility.
Too many people are conned by these scam artist naturopaths.Their knowledge is limited and the studies they quote totally bogus.

And who may I ask is a “Biological Dentist”. Someone with a dental degree from a recognized University?
It is one thing to take a holistic approach to incipient cavity development. once the nerve of the tooth is infected you have two choices, extraction or root canal.
Did you know that real scientific studies show that people who do not have full masticatory function due to molar tooth removal have digestive problems and live 2=5 years less than People with a full dentition ?

If your mouth is infected and you have abscesses due to teeth which have not been properly treated of course inflammation in other parts of the body can be exacerbated..but that is not the point we are discussing here.

Here is what the charlatan Dr.Mercola recommends as a “healthy” alternative to saving your teeth with root canal. Can any of you imagine going through life wearing this and putting it in a glass of water with polident next to your bed every night?
But the seriousness of this is this.Anyone who loses teeth and cannot afford implant surgery had best make sure their denture fits perfectly and is checked annually. ill=fitting dentures will rub on your gums causing ulceration,infection..and in extreme cases oral cancer.I have removed more tumors and cysts than I care to talk about, especially when I realize that it was a plastic piece of junk that Mercola, who hasn’t a clue about oral pathology, recommends as opposed to root canal…and that this recommendation eventually led to death of the patient in neglected untreatable advanced cases.

That’s lovely! What’s even more lovely is when a patient comes in and had no idea they were suppose to remove it… And so it is full of nasty bacteria and their mouth is raw and infected, and they just can’t figure out why they are sick all the time.

I know firsthand just how awful root canals are! Absolutely no doubt and have lots of proof to go along with what I have experienced. They are very sneaky, silently spread infection throughout your body by way of path of least resistance and can go anywhere in the body. In combination with amalgams they are extremely toxic. I find most people just don’t want to hear it that have them, the whole ignorance is bliss thing…but that does not stop the facts, which should be common sense…It’s like putting a cap on any other dead body part. Anyone who does not want to heed warnings, it is nothing to me…your choice is your choice. But I have to share this horrid experience for others let down by conventional dentists & doctors. It did not need to happen.
And the guy above calling people quacks…just the way you speak says a lot about you, scary and sad.

In my case, had I not sought out alternative treatments, I would still be taking chemo and more than likely planning my funeral (but hey, that’s one thing my kids wouldn’t have to do?!)
I believe western has its place, but to say natural paths in general are quacks is wrong.
I went to the same dentist for just over 20 years, he had all the credentials on the wall, was president of some dental organization in our state, had great bedside manner with me and my kids – BUT he was okay with my gums bleeding (started bleeding when I got pregnant with my daughter 22 years ago) and said to have my blood checked. I did and my doc said my blood was fine, so I thought I was fine – only to find out from my biological dentist (whom you might call a quack because he believes in avoiding root canals at all costs) that I had tarter under my gums that was black in color – said it would take years to get in that condition – oh and the testing of pockets (I had 5,6,7 and 8s), I don’t recall ever having the probe in my mouth before (not to say it was never done at the previous office, but I don’t recall every having it done – and it just seems like I would remember that instrument and numbers being called out?!)
As far as my natural path, she gets credit too for me being on this side of the grass. Had I not met her, I wouldn’t have understood that cancer is just a sick body, and I needed to get well. I followed her instructions to a tee. She is who started me on this path to wellness.
Yep – alternative practices (which by the way have been around for thousands of years) is why I’m doing so well – but again I’m not knocking western medicine, it’s just the end all.
Stage IV inflammatory breast cancer to the bones – have three clear scans to prove its gone (but have opted to not do any more scans, as I believe I’m healing my body and need not worry about cancer anymore)

Where is the evidence based research? This is not factual. I know of someone that read an article like this that claimed root canals were the cause of her anxiety attacks. She tried to have the dentist I work for extract all of her endodontically treated teeth. Thank goodness he refused, but she did find another, not-so-ethical dentist to do the deed. This article is really irresponsible.

I was given a link to this group from someone. I and many others are a victim of toxic dentistry. There is a non profit support group in Minnesota that helps people avoid toxic dentistry. It is called DAMS, Dental Amalgam Mercury Solutions and was formed by two women in the late 1980’s who were poisoned from mercury.
You will not find answers from conventional dentistry as they still deny there is any problem with what they were taught in dental school. If you are planning on having silver amalgam dental fillings removed or are thinking of having any kind of dental work done you need to educate yourself on problems connected with
1) Unsafe removal of silver amalgam (mercury) dental fillings
2) Problems caused by root canals
3) Problems caused by titanium implants
4) Problems caused by extractions when the area is not properly cleaned out
5) Problems caused by mixing metals in the mouth causing oral galvanism or galvanic currents, that is brought on when dentists place bridgework, metal or porcelain fused to metal crowns, or metal braces
DAMS has information on all these topics and can give you lists of dentists who are trained in these areas. The website for contact information is amalgam dot org.
I have not had time to read posts in this group, so I may be repeating things you already know. If so please forgive me.
McClatchy newpapers did an excellent expose on toxic dentistry and how the FDA has failed to protect the public in a series of articles published in 2015. The FDA was finally willing to put some restrictions on the use of mercury in dentistry but the HHS didn’t want to spend the extra money for non amalgam dental fillings. So you can see our government does not care if people are sick.

Please. Unless there is a direct causation, don’t frighten people out of necessary dental work. It is probably also true that 93% of men by that age also had root canals without getting breast cancer (yes, it is a real thing).

No Denise Smith..the bacteria stuck in the tooth pockets..inside the gum line..just like they tell us our animals need healthy teeth. Implants are an expensive option that often fail, and you lose the tooth and about $6,000 in the process. I am.not saying you should try to encapsulate bacteria in the tooth root, obviously no dentist is trying to do that during a root canal (I have had more than 10 of them, no cancer). I am saying that there is not a cause and effect relationship between root canals and breast cancer, although obviously both can happen to the same person.
