Stretching, a form of physical exercise, helps improve the muscle’s felt elasticity, achieve comfortable muscle tone and consequently, range of motion about your joints. It also increases the blood flow to the muscle.
Stretching, as part of your exercise routine, is a good idea. Actually, the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) recommends stretching each of the major muscle groups at least two times a week for 60 seconds per exercise. Staying flexible as you age is helpful. It helps you move better.
