I stopped using dryer sheets about 7 months ago. In looking for alternatives, I read to make aluminum foil into small balls and use in the dryer to stop static and it really works!! You can use them over and over. Of course, you don’t have the nice small you get from the sheets.

White vinegar softens clothes. I can’t smell vinegar on clothes, just smell clean as it gets odors out too. If you want that fresh scent, try essential oils. Doterra oils are awesome. They are higher quality. Hope this helps

Dryer sheets will also cause your lint filter to clog and overheat the dryer causing fire hazard.

I haven’t used them in many years. Probably 10+. I don’t even miss them. No static, either. So our towels may not be as soft, but they still do their job.

I haven’t noticed any static since I started using vinegar. I’m not sure if it suppose to help with that or not. I have seen posts about aluminum foil balls & wool balls for static, but never looked into it. Using fabric softener & dryer sheets also attract dirt & set stains that may not have completely washed out

Cotton ball with a bit of essential oil works or a washcloth that you keep reusing for that purpose. 🙂

Elise Jakubowski I heard that wool balls work and you can add essential oils for a nice smell. I use a lot of vinegar on my dad’s cloths but it does not keep static out. You can reuse the wool balls over & over too. I think I might have it saved on my pinterest.

I get mint from the yard before winter hits and put it any place mice may be. Cut way down mice issues. Pretty good as a farmer is across the road from us. May God Bless…

Anything that has an added artificial scent is going to cause problems in at least 2 groups of people. First being asthmatics. Up to a third of the kids in school carry an inhaler. The second is folks with MCS. These artificial chemicals change the DNA, cause early death. I have asthma and I hate going out in public with all the smells. My friend has a face that swells and a week or more of being sick every time an old lady goes by, room fresheners, plug ins, laundry detergent, fabric softeners, body sprays, cologne, any strong smell, Might as well be cigarette smoke as it just hurts the body, Just wanted you to know. May God Bless…

  35. Nevermind using these and other scented laundry products, I can barely manage to run down the detergent aisle to grab my unscented products. I get dizzy and literally start bumping into things when confronted with chemical fragrances. I’ve come close to passing out in a business office where a scented candle was burning. It makes you wonder how many people are affected by this stuff and don’t even know it. And try avoiding it! There are times the whole neighborhood is permeated with the odor of someone fumigating their laundry, friends whose clothes will run you out of the area and stores with potpourri you can smell from the parking lot.
