Dryer sheets are gauze-like tissues that can be put in dryers to eliminate static cling, soften clothes and can also make clothes smell great. Many people use dryer sheets as everyone wants their clothes to smell good and to be as soft as possible after getting it from a dryer. There are several dryer sheets manufacturers that manufactures odorless for consumers with environmental concerns, but recent studies say that dryer sheets are harmful to our health and can cause several diseases, even cause cancer. On the Next Page learn all about and the chemicals found in dryer sheets.

Vinegar keeps your washer and water pipes clean too. I add it to the liquid fabric softenergy dispenser.

Me too! I don’t use detergent at all though because all detergents are basically chemicals… Why not use real soap? 🙂 Detergents were created in the WW1/WW2 era due to shortages of veg and animal fats used to create soap. They’re (detergents) mostly petroleum based and are still prevalent/popular because of high profit margins for companies and lower consumer cost. Plus, companies can make them ‘idiot proof’ with other chemicals, like optical brighteners, that make everything look clean (even when it’s really not). A lot of folks don’t know that when you dry your clothes after washing in detergents, VOCs are emitted, making for poor indoor air quality (even if your dryer vents to the outside). Go soap and you’ll never go back!!!

Folks with asthma, M.C.S., C.O.P.D. and other breathing issues are effected by these as well as other strongly, chemically scented produced items.
People shouldn’t be able to smell, in some cases, taste the underlying chemical from your perfume or dryer sheet stink from 30 feet away.

I use Seventh Generation laundry soap & add some Purification. Also Seventh Generation dryer sheets…they work ok also use those spiky plastic dryer balls with the dryer sheets to reduce the static. I have made my own dryer sheets with vinegar & essential oils, they worked ok but not great.

I don’t use a dryer, never have, detest them. Dry ‘au-natural’ and outside in the sun when sunny. Save elec / save money. Dryer ? Nutty ! God’s sunshine, plus, extra bonus, sunshine IS anti-bacterial.
As for fabric softener – no thanks. A little vinegar in the rinse section is all. Have used such for *years. And am 80 !
