Ginger can be used to treat many ailments, and it has been used by holistic healers for years to do just that! It has a wider variety of uses ranging from nausea and vomiting to pain and inflammation.

Ginger is wonderful for the body and an easy way to flavor food without the addition of unnecessary sodium. It is often consumed in small amount meaning it does not add large quantities of calories or carbohydrates.

Ginger Ale Recipe

2 Cups peeled, chopped ginger

4 Cups Purified water

Raw Honey to Taste

Sparkling water

2 Limes, Juiced

Lime wedge to garnish

Method:

Bring 4 Cups of water to a boil, add ginger. Reduce the heat to medium-low and allow the ginger to sit in the simmering water for 5 minutes. Remove it from the heat and strain it out using a kitchen strainer. To serve, combine 1 parts ginger to 3 parts sparkling water and serve over ice. Sweeten to your taste using raw honey and lime juice. Garnish and enjoy!
