Licorice is the root of glycyrrhiza glabra from which a sweet flavor can be extracted. It is commonly used as a flavoring for tobacco, candies and sweeteners. There are a lot of health benefits that we can get from licorice, but just like any other medication, too much consumption may result in adverse effects. As used medically, it can be used as an antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and blood pressure-increasing effect. A molecule from licorice root nullifies liver damage from alcohol and Tylenol…stunning scientific research has been systematically suppressed by Big Pharma and the FDA. People are already confused about what “real food” is. Articles like this are one of the reasons why. The picture of candy posted has absolutely nothing to do with the healing properties of licorice root. I know you’re just trying to get people’s attention with the picture but there are so many that won’t read the article and then have it in their heads that licorice candy is good for you.

Red “licorice” has absolutely NO licorice in it.. should have used a pic of Black Licorice.. at least it has some licorice root in it!!!
