Read on how to remove plaque naturally. Check out the article we found over at Organic Health.

Plaque is a soft, sticky film that builds up on the teeth and it contains millions of bacteria. The bacteria in the plaque can cause tooth decay and gum disease if they’re not removed regularly through brushing and flossing. When you eat the bacteria in the plaque uses the sugars in the food to produce acids that can eat away at tooth enamel. Repeated attacks cause enamel to break down and can eventually result in a cavity.

Plaque is colorless and very difficult to see. When there are heavy plaque deposits it can be seen easier and may look like a thick white deposit of food stuck between the teeth. It is constantly growing in the mouth which leads to tartar build-up and the best way to prevent that is to brush and floss every day. These home remedies will help you get rid of plaque if you’re one of those people who hate going to the dentist and brushing.

Recipe 1:
Ingredients
– 15 grams walnut shell
– Water

Put the shell in a pot and boil the water for 15 minutes. Dip your toothbrush into the mixture and brush your teeth for 5 minutes. Do this 3 times a day.

Recipe 2 :
Ingredients
– 1 ½ tablespoons mountain wormwood leaves
– 2 deciliter fermented wine
Pour the wine over the leaves and cover it for 2 hours. After it has set, strain the mixture and brush your teeth.

Plaque can easily be removed by the bristles of a toothbrush. It’s the friction of the bristles on the teeth that remove the plaque, not anything you add on the brush.

Easier than these ways, just pour a capful of hydrogen peroxide over the bristles, then dip them in baking soda and brush your teeth. Rinse well.

I’ve heard that oil pulling helps greatly. Neither of these recipes is practicable or easily available

  6. My dentist said don’t use toothpaste > once daily as it’s abraisive & will wear away your enamel. Use B. soda, Hyd. P. or even pour mouthwash on your t. brush to “taste” the clean. ;).
