Two things to keep in mind about your metabolism rate are body composition and age. Body composition is when you’re larger or more muscular, the body requires more energy. Muscle also burns calories than fat while in a state of rest. Age is when we get older, our capability to build and maintain muscles generally slow down.  The tendency is to gain fat and our metabolism decreases.
