Some Tea Bags Contain Extremely High Levels of Fluoride

Been drinking tea? Learn what teas could have fluoride and other toxic substances in it. Check out the article we found over at Organic Health.

A lot of us choose our drinks based on how healthy the beverage is, I know I do. I start my day off with warm lemon water, then have a cup of nice hot tea, and throughout the day I have fruit water; but, did you know your warm tea habit could have some effects on your body?

I love hot tea; I drink it all the time. Then one day while doing some research I learned that some of my favorite tea brands contained high levels of pesticides. Most conventional tea brands contain shockingly high levels of toxic substances like fluoride and pesticide residue.

Lipton

Allegro

Celestial

Tazo

Teavana

Bigelow

Twinings

Tetley

Trader Joe’s

Might Leaf

Yogi

Tea Forte

I am not talking minimal amounts here; I am talking dangerously high levels, levels to the point of being unsafe. So drinking cheap tea could be just as bad as processed foods.

Most teas are not washed before the drying process, so unless you are buying organic brands more than likely you are gulping down pesticides. But, recently even brands claiming to be organic or pesticide free have been found to contain pesticides that are carcinogens. One new study even found that cheaper blends contain high fluoride levels putting people at risk for many illnesses.  Some even contained such levels as seven parts per million in the fluoride department.

Tea is very good for you, but make sure you are purchasing the right kind of tea and ditch the cheaper alternatives!
