Lower back pain is one of the most common ailments to date, around 31 million Americans experience this kind of pain. It is one of the consequences of being sedentary, or on the contrary incredibly active.
No matter how you started experiencing the pain, the following stretches will help relieve the pain and keep your back fit and strong.
- Bound Ankle Pose
The following pose is one of the very best, it will open the hips and stretch the back. Hold for 30 seconds, rest 10 and repeat.
- The Hamstring floor stretch
Hold 30 seconds, twice for each leg.
- Spinal Stretch
Hold for 20 seconds, repeat on the other knee. Rest and then repeat. Do not over do it!
- Knee to Chest Stretch
Hold 20 seconds for each leg, rest and repeat.
- Piriformis Stretch
Hold for 30 seconds and repeat with the other leg.
- Hip Flexors Stretch
Hold for 30 seconds switch and repeat.
- Quadriceps lying down stretch
Hold this stretch for 30 seconds on each side, and repeat.
- Total back stretch – Hold for 30 seconds
9. Hold for 30 seconds and try the following for 10 seconds on both sides.
