By the ground spice, and the bioavailability is highest when added to heated foods that include a healthy oil. I do stir fry, scrambled eggs, any casserole. It’s a fairly mild spicy so it’s also great in sauces and salad dressings.

Google “bioavailability of turmeric” for more ideas!

P.s. it’s been and miracle for my knees and back!

I recommend against buying the spice for this reason: Most spices are contaminated with dog and rat hair, feces, dust and more. Working with Turmeric, it helps to know two things. First is that Turmeric is enhanced 8 times when combined with Piper nigrum (black pepper) and is also increased in effectiveness with taken with a fat/oil such as Coconut Oil and more so when heated though not necessary. A therapeutic dose is considered to be at least 1.3 grams or 1300 mg. Other than my own, which I now make for myself and my clients, the best I have found on the market is Oregon’s Wild Harvest. Organically grown and combined with Piper nigrum, this formula comes with 825 mg of extract (stronger than just root) as well as 525 mg of rhizome (root) powder and 9 mg of Piper nigrum (black pepper) with one dose being 1359 mg of total inflammation fighting power. I recommend this to all my clients with any autoimmune or inflammatory conditions or symptoms. However, I would be shy on diligence if I did not mention that the best thing I have found overall for reducing inflammation is following a Ketogenic Paleo Diet. It also helps to eliminate the triggers that set the immune system off, creating the inflammation. Grains with gluten, agglutinin, and gliadin (wheat, rye, barley (corn and oats contain gliadin); conventional dairy in which the enzymes capable of helping to digest the milk protein is destroyed during pasteurization; processed sugar (primary for acidity and inflammation in the blood); and nightshades (tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, eggplant, etc.) all cause inflammation. If you don’t address the cause, the condition will not go away! I used this (and a few “steps” heal myself from 32 conditions, most autoimmune, that required 23 medications. I did so following the Steps To Optimum Health within six months and weaned off my last two meds two months later. You might want to check them out at the top of our page.
