    Ginger root keeps well in the freezer. Wrap closely in plastic wrap – I also put that in another zipper bag, preferably freezer type. When you need fresh grated ginger, just unwrap and it grates easily. I don’t usually bother to peel it.
    Also, brandied ginger keeps like fresh. Put slices in a small jar and cover with brandy. When you heat it, the alcohol cooks off. When the ginger is gone, you can use the gingered brandy however you want. Even refill with ginger slices.

    Black pepper amplifies the absorbtion of the turmeric. Add a bit of this to the drink every time.
