But for the last while, I’ve also been using the recipe on the next page and am loving the results!  I feel amazing and have energy for the whole day! I’m sure you guessed 2 of the ingredients are Lemon and Turmeric, but I highly suggest you add the other 2 ingredients to make it a real powerhouse drink! I find that most cinnamon is too hot to be part of a drink. I use Ceylon cinnamon in teas and such. You can break off an inch of a stick and that will flavor a drink nicely. Look for the whole sticks in the section with Mexican spices. The sticks have thin layers of bark, not the thick bark of most cinnamon ( cassia ) sticks.

I’ve read that turmeric cannot be absorbed into the body to it’s full potential without a healthy oil like coconut or olive additionally. Without those included the turmeric benefits are minimal

Don’t forget to mention the one downfall of drinking lemon water is that citric acid can erode tooth enamel, so be on guard.

Yes absolutely a straw helps but still an issue especially if brushing teeth too soon after drinking while enamel is still soft. I just think that any article promoting something as healthy should give the guidelines for usage and possible problems. Nothing worse than consuming omething you think is healthy only to find out it caused another problem. 🙂

I drink this all the time and have for years…sometimes I change it up with sage, thyme, ginger root or even if sick, I will add dehydrated garlic to my lemon tea…try it with a little orange juice in it too…so many options and healhier than most tea bags.

I learned that for bio-availability you need black pepper & oil and you need to cook the tumeric till it turns into a paste…

I put the turmeric in a clear capsule, that way the strong flavour doesn’t take away from the lemon and honey! I can’t wrap my head around the Mexican spice flavour being in a gingery, lemony, honey tea. Works fine in a capsule and drinking the lemon tea itself 😉
