YES….. it has to do with cancer not being able to survive in an alkaline environment. AND you can get organic baking soda at some health food stores. I think Bob’s Red Mill is one of the brands.

Ok I have read some of the comments and there seems to be the need to clear up some confusion. First if all there is a difference between baking soda and baking powder. Baking soda is nothing but sodium bicarbonate period and does nit contain aluminum and you are can’t get that organic it is just that simple. Second , baking powder is made from baking soda, monocalcium phosphate, and corn starch. It can also have aluminum. That is why I buy this brand that is aluminum free plus GMO free. Corn starch is made from corn and 90% of corn is GMO so it is very important to buy a non GMO brand.
