As much as I love coconut oil, this did nothing to help prevent my son from developing horrible cavities due to no enamel on his teeth. Only when we switched to flourish toothpaste did the dental problems stop. He lost four teeth and had four crowns put in as a result of our refusing flouride. And he was only 18 months old.

You maybe wearing away your enamel… Be careful with the abrasive substances you use.. Once enamel is gone.. It’s gone forever .

I make my own too. I’m glad to know its natural and that all the ingredients are edible. Because this morning I started to brush my teeth only to be Interrupted by a hungry baby! I ran to the rescue and just swallowed my toothpaste.

This is why pseudoscience, such as homemade toothpaste, is bad news. I’m so sorry for your son. Please keep up on the fluoride toothpaste and his adult teeth should be just fine!
