2 large, minced onions
50 cloves of garlic, cleaned and peeled (5 garlic bulbs)
1 teaspoon of chopped fresh thyme
1 cup of fatty sour cream
1 bunch fresh herbs – parsley, thyme, bay leaves (you can use dried spices)
2 teaspoons of olive oil
2 tablespoons of butter
6 cups (250 ml each) of clear chicken soup (as a base)
3 cups old bread, cut into cubes
Instructions:
At first, preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Cut off the tops (1/3) heads of the garlic and wrap the garlic together with olive oil in aluminum foil, and bake it for 90 minutes. Then, allow it to cool off.
In a pot over medium heat, add two tablespoons of olive oil and butter. Stew the onions for 10 minutes.
Then, add the already baked garlic to the stewed onions. Stir, add the chicken soup, the chopped thyme and add fresh or dried herbs.
Now lower the heat, add the snippets from bread and allow it to stew for five minutes until the bread becomes soft.
Take out the herbs and stir the soup in a blender or a hand mixer until you obtain creamy and homogenous mixture. In order to enrich the flavor, you can add sour cream and salt.
Enjoy in both- this delicious soup and your health!

I been making this for years except I add in more and take out some of the others> mine is mainly homemade chicken bone broth and some of chicken stays in it, a ton of veggies (garlic, celery, onions, cayenne peppers, ginger roots hunks, horseradish root grated, some dehydrated cabbage, spinach and kale and a chopped tomato or two) and my herbs.

You call this healthy soup? Full of dairy and chicken? Dairy is full of hormones and pure fat, not to mention legal amounts of puss and blood. Yummy. Dairy is one of the most unhralthiest things to put into your body. I clicked on this link thinking it would be this delicious plant based superfood soup with tumeric or something. Not too surprised tho., most ppl dont know the true meaning of healthy and just let the money hungry media dictate their knowledge. Sad.

My cold fighting broth I make:
– 1 med onion
– 4 to 5 cloves of garlic diced or grated ( I put 6 ) you may put less. But this is what boosts your immune system.
– 1 inch chunk of ginger , diced or grated
Put all in pot with some oil , I used avocado oil or olive oil. Sauté for 3 mins or so on low med heat. Add 3 cups of water, or beef broth whatever on hand, 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, chilli flakes , turmeric, fresh or powder, splash of soy seasoning. Let simmer for 30 mins or until satisfaction. Enjoy

I use organic pasture raised chicken ( and sometimes organic grass fed beef )and make my own bone broth with lots of organic veggies makes good it very healing and healthy! Also I would use coconut milk or raw goats milk instead of the commercial sour cream. Just because YOU don’t eat meat or dairy doesn’t mean there aren’t healthy forms of both. Using homemade bone broth is helping me to heal my autoimmune disease.

Raw milk is loaded with enzymes. Good dairy, good quality meat are easy to find. If it was good enough for my ancestors it’s good enough for me. There’s plenty if holes is a vegan diet to rethink. Do vegans live into their 90s? Studies on that might be interesting.

Louise Sanford Animal fat and protein are the worst things you can be putting into your body. It causes heart disease, diabetes, cancer..etc…. That goats milk was meant for her baby, its not for you! How would you like if someone came and stole your milk from your breast to feed their family. Not only is dairy cruel, all that casein, hormones, saturated fat and protein wrecks havoc on the human body and is the #1 cause of breast cancer. You wanna know healthy FORMS of meat and dairy? Vegan meats (gardein, tofurky, beyondmeat etc…) and vegan milks like almond, coconut and many others. Your autoimmune disease would be best healed on a high carb/low fat vegan lifestyle.

Mary Danielsen There is NO such thing as good quality meat or dairy. Our ancestors thrived on a high carb STARCH diet mainly consisting of rice, potatoes, barley, lentils, beans, nuts/seeds, veggies and fruits. Meat only brings you down, mentally and physically. Yes vegans live looong lives because we are soo healthy and at very low risk of developing disease. Watch the vids I will share with you.

Not true! We have dairy farms in Wisconsin. Many cows still eat grass and produce meat and milk loaded with omega 3 the way God intended. Do your homework. We still have farmers in the Midwest dedicated to real food…I am almost 60 with NO medical issues at all. Fear of beef and dairy is not necessary.

I don’t think they know what the bread is for. Not if the answer to my question is to just leave it out with an exclamation mark. The bread in the instructions is blended into the soup not like the picture shows.

If you slice the garlic in half and remove the inner green stem that may make garlic easier for you to digest. Although with this recipe youd be working on it forever 🙂
