This is all such nonsense – you claim honey is unsafe because the pollen is removed – BS. Your article is full of ‘it is believed’, but not one shred of real evidence. If you want to pay more for an inferior product go ahead, I’m sticking with my usual store bought honey.

Shari Brauneller Sarber-I found this and thought of John’s honey and how good it is compared to Store bought. didn’t realize those fakey kind were full of many antibiotics, new to me.

  20. I am glad John has it also!! I try not to buy it at the store. We have a small farmer’s market about a mi. from us when I run out. Little more expensive than John’s, but still local raw honey.

this article is misleading. filtered honey is real honey, although many of the nutrients have been filtered out. I am more concerned about adulterated stuff sold as honey but homogenized with sugar syrup to make it go further. Fortunately, I have a neighbor with his own bees, so I get my honey from him.

Yeah, even in the tiny packets in restaurants.. it’s cut with GMO Corn Syrup… Even my favourite Baklava was sickening sweet & I felt ill afterwards.. They said they had a new supplier. Nothing is sacred.. It’s all about the $ we have to be careful. Buy Local.

It states the ingredients on the container. Most of them list high fructose corn syrup as an ingredient. That ain’t honey.

One ounce of raw honey contains approximately 20 vitamins, 18 amino acids, 16 minerals, and a ton of antioxidants and phytonutrients. Raw honey is an antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal substance. It is also highly nutritious. It contains significant amounts of B2, B3, B5, B6, C, magnesium, potassium, calcium, sodium chlorine, sulphur, and phosphate.

I purchased one from loblaws “Superstore”. It was sold by McCormick, Canada ,a name which I trusted. On the front it says Pasturized, Canada No. 1, but in fine print on the back it says “A blend of Chinese and Canadian Honey”. Thanks for the post. I won’t buy it again.
